"I recently had a call with a seventh year associate at a large law firm who bills over $1,000 an hour. As a former lawyer who built her own book of business, I can tell you that it is very hard to develop your own book as a young lawyer at those rates. Boutiques allow the rate flexibility to build books at a younger tenure than more traditional firms."
