“And I knew exactly what to do. But in a much more real sense, I had no idea what to do”

-Michael Scott

Allison Hill is a true all-around athlete. Sure, she was a top-ranked Division III hurdler and the captain of her college soccer team. But her versatility truly shines in the recruiting arena—she has placed attorneys at law firms, GCs and CCOs at fintech startups and major financial institutions, and even helped secure jobs for the unhoused.

Growing up in an idyllic seaside town in Maine, Allison attended Bates College, where her athleticism stood out. Refusing to choose between the two sports she loved, she competed in both track and soccer, earning captaincy in both and qualifying for Nationals in hurdles. A dramatic near-win led a local Maine paper to pen the devastating—but admittedly flawless—headline: “Hill’s Hurdle Heartbreak.” Allison bounced back that same day to secure the top finish in the 200 meters. If resilience were a sport, she’d be a national champion in it, too.

After graduating, Allison never slowed down—she backpacked through South Africa, worked as a deckhand and stewardess on yachts in Australia, and brought her energy to a bustling homeless shelter in San Diego during the height of the pandemic. At the shelter, she helped clients secure housing, jobs, and even gym memberships (“One of my clients got ripped, and it completely turned his life around!”).

Discovering a genuine passion for connecting people with opportunities, recruitment was a natural next step. Allison joined a financial services recruiting agency, where she built a thriving practice placing compliance officers and in-house counsel in the fintech and blockchain spaces. Her success in that world eventually led her to Whistler, where she has embraced the “white glove” recruiting model, relishing the opportunity to combine her small-town Maine authenticity with a candidate-first ethos.

These days, Allison calls San Diego home, where she surfs almost daily and serves as the San Diego Co-Chair of Crypto Connect. If she’s not at the beach or on a call, you can probably find her plotting her next adventure—or convincing someone that she really did see a great white at Black’s Beach.

Favorite secret beach:

"Maine has no shortage of secret beaches, but my favorite is the one that requires a two-mile hike—or a daring stroll through a millionaire’s backyard. I always seem to find myself more drawn to the latter option."

First job/worst job:

"My first job was as a bus girl at a local seafood restaurant on the coast of Maine when I was 14. I wouldn’t call it the 'worst job,' but I definitely cracked more lobsters for lazy out-of-staters in a day than should be legal for someone that age."

Desired superpower:

"Limitless energy supply. I would prefer sleep to be a chosen activity versus a required time commitment."
