The Opportunity

You'll establish our legal foundation with a focus on employment law, commercial contracts, and product compliance. Beyond providing guidance, you'll be a key strategic partner shaping our approach to legal and regulatory challenges. This founding role rewards initiative, strategic thinking, and comfort with ambiguity.

Your Impact

1. Build and oversee all legal matters in a fast-growing environment
2. Provide clear guidance on product development, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance
3. Stay ahead of employment and labor laws across multiple jurisdictions
4. Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, partnerships, and vendor deals
5. Collaborate with executives on strategic decisions and risk assessment
6. Create scalable legal workflows that grow with our company
   

What You Bring

1. JD degree with active New York bar membership
2. 9+ years of sophisticated legal experience (law firm and in-house preferred)
3. Deep expertise in employment/labor law and compliance
4. Strong foundation in data privacy, IP, and commercial law
5. Proven ability to navigate legal challenges in high-growth startups
6. Exceptional judgment balancing risk and business objectives
7. Entrepreneurial mindset with hands-on approach to building processes
