Job Overview

Reporting to the Head of Legal, this attorney will play a key role in supporting a broad range of legal and business matters across a rapidly scaling software company. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer to pivot from big law transactional practice to being an in-house generalist who enjoys variety, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is excited by the evolving legal landscape surrounding emerging technologies and AI.

The role requires balancing speed with precision, managing multiple priorities simultaneously, and partnering closely with stakeholders across the business. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide range of legal disciplines, including commercial contracting, regulatory compliance, product counseling, corporate matters, and operational initiatives. Work onsite at NYC headquarters 4-5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

Leveraging foundational building blocks of legal drafting, research and transaction management against a fearless desire to learn and apply, you’ll learn quickly and ramp up to contributing towards the business in the following ways:

• Draft, review, and negotiate customer, vendor, partner, and other commercial agreements
• Help develop scalable contracting processes, templates, and workflows to support company growth
• Partner with business teams to facilitate efficient deal execution
• Lead complex compliance and regulatory initiatives from planning through implementation
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise stakeholders on emerging risks and obligations
• Develop policies, training programs, and best practices to support organizational compliance
• Serve as a trusted advisor on relevant regulatory frameworks and operational requirements
• Support employment, corporate governance, privacy, and other legal matters as needed
• Partner closely with sales, finance, product, and operations teams on strategic initiatives
• Contribute to special projects and business initiatives across the organization

About You

• Juris Doctor (or equivalent) and active bar membership
• Approximately 2–5 years of experience at a leading law firm or in a sophisticated in-house legal environment
• Strong legal drafting experience
• Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills
• Ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory frameworks and provide practical business guidance
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively across teams
• Excited to learn new subject matter and tackle unfamiliar challenges
• Able to balance urgency with thoughtful legal analysis
• Enjoys working closely with business stakeholders and serving as a solutions-oriented partner
