Job Overview & Key Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Chief Legal Officer and play a key role in shaping Esusu’s legal strategy while enabling responsible, innovative growth.
  • Provide expert counsel across commercial, regulatory, and strategic matters, influencing decisions at the highest levels and acting as a key advisor in expanding new product lines.
  • Serve as a key advisor to Esusu’s product and marketing teams, playing a key role in building and launching innovative and compliant products.
  • Oversee high-value legal transactions.
  • Craft practical, business-oriented solutions in fast-moving, high-ambiguity environments.

About You
  • JD from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
  • 8+ years of legal experience, preferably at both a top law firm and as in-house commercial, regulatory and/or product counsel in fintech, financial services or another regulated industry.
  • Proven track record of leading legal initiatives that impact multiple departments or functions.
  • Experience overseeing complex commercial and strategic legal transactions.
  • Expertise in risk management and regulatory compliance at a fast-moving, innovative business.
  • Expertise in fintech, SaaS, ecommerce required (specific FTC, CCPA, and FCRA knowledge a plus).
  • Sharp analytical skills, diligent, proactive, and collaborative, and have demonstrated excellent legal and business judgment and strategic thinking.
