Job Overview

RADAR is seeking a highly motivated and skilled lawyer to join the team in-house. As the head of our legal function, you will play a critical role in providing legal guidance and support to our organization. You will report to the Chief Growth Officer and work closely with other members of the wider executive team to oversee legal strategy & agreements, ensure legal compliance and minimize risks across our operations. Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, including core enterprise product SaaS customer contracts, vendor agreements, board motions, employment agreements, and partnership agreements.
  • Manage and collaborate with external legal firms across corporate & board governance, employment law, contract negotiation, IP, regulatory certification and litigation.
  • Provides stakeholders with practical advice and support on legal matters in a fast-paced environment. Anticipates company needs based on understanding of the business and regulatory environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal compliance in new product development, marketing campaigns, and other business initiatives.
  • Conduct legal research and provide advice on a wide range of legal matters, including contracts, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, real estate and employment law.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends that may impact the business, and communicate any changes or potential risks to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on legal and compliance matters as we scale the organization.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of company policies and procedures to ensure legal and ethical business practices.
  • Assist in managing and resolving legal disputes, including preparing legal documents, conducting investigations, and representing the company in negotiations or legal proceedings, as needed.
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and other stakeholders.
 
About You
  • You have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and admitted to practice law in New York or California.
  • You have 6+ years of relevant experience as a practicing attorney, preferably with a focus on contract law, corporate governance, and IP law.
  • You have a strong understanding of corporate and commercial law, contract drafting and negotiation, and intellectual property rights.
  • You can deliver professional, concise and easily understandable communication, provide clear direction and/or recommendations regarding assigned matters. Proactively communicates with internal clients from time to time as necessary or appropriate regarding expectations of the content of the legal work product and timeframes for completion of work.
  • You have excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • You have the ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively to non-legal stakeholders.
  • You are extremely detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • You are proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • You have demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Preferred: You have the experience in retail, retail technology, supply-chain, and Enterprise SaaS.
