Alex WeinbergWhistler Partners is pleased to announce the placement of Alex Weinberg as Associate General Counsel at Digital Asset, a leader in the blockchain space that designs and delivers technology that reshapes legacy systems and workflows into efficient, secure, and interconnected applications.

Alex's profile was a unique one for us at Whistler: he most recently served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of New York (2017-2021) and District of New Jersey (2016-2017). Notably, Alex acted as co-counsel in investigations of and lawsuits against certain global financial institutions and ratings agencies for alleged violations of the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act (“FIRREA”) including allegations that these institutions engaged in fraudulent schemes to sell or rate residential mortgage-backed securities in the lead up to the 2008 Financial Crisis. Alex's work on these cases resulted in approximately $3 billion in recoveries for the U.S. Government. Prior to serving as an AUSA, Alex clerked on the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, and was a litigation associate at Cahill Gordon & Reindel.

It was that unique profile that set him apart as a candidate for Digital Asset. "Alex‘s experience as an Assistant US Attorney and, in particular, his familiarity with the financial services industry, distinguished him from other candidates, which meant I was excited to get his profile in front of Manoj and his team," said John Wolf Konstant, Senior Consultant at Whistler Partners. "Digital Asset's focus on building financial and insurance solutions that eliminate risk aligned perfectly with Alex's previous work. Combine that with his enthusiasm for innovative technology, and I thought it would make a great match."
