This position is full-time, salaried, position and a unique opportunity to work hand-in-hand with General Counsels from over 2,000 venture capital firms and technology startups to build a truly game-changing platform.

TechGC is looking for a highly motivated, personable and organized professional to lead and own content at our 200+ events across 6 cities including two full day 300 person conferences (one in each of New York and San Francisco) with the support of a small team and partnering with prominent members of their community.

This person will own management, some of the sourcing, choosing, slotting and iterating the core content for TechGC's 6 flagship conferences (e.g., Fullstack GC Conference and the TechGC National Summit at the New York Stock Exchange) as well as a regular virtual and smaller events across the country.

Their ideal candidate has experience in the legal and/or startup industries, has intense innate curiosity, a passion for learning, and desire to produce the best legal event content in the industry. The right candidate will enjoy managing multiple projects and providing top-notch communication to TechGC's speakers for every event, including the leaders at prominent tech companies like Lyft, AirBnb, WeWork, etc. TechGC is known for their event content, so this is an incredibly opportunity for someone who loves events, content, startups and the law.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Work with their co-chairs executive members to develop high quality content and agenda's for our conferences and other events.

• Lead with speaker selection and assemble and manage their event session agenda

• Help source (via inbound and outbound methods) speakers and content for their national events

• Communicate and build relationships with their speakers, address their needs, and set expectations for the event

• Conduct market research and trend analysis, including talking to their members and monitoring their list-serve, of the startup and tech legal industries to determine the right speakers and topics for each of TechGC's events

• Some travel is required to provide support for onsite execution of events

 

Qualifications

 

• You have an insatiable curiosity to learn about new topics and issues

• You're a strong, confident writer

• You love building and maintaining relationships

• You're extremely comfortable learning technology and have a passion for the startups and legal communities

• You have strong administrative skills, and can easily multi-task, follow up and manage competing priorities all under tight deadlines

• You're a self-starter, but when something is over your head you aren't afraid to ask for help

 

Experience

 

• Law firm or in-house counsel with JD preferred

• Demonstrated interest in startups

• 3+ years of content or event experience (including law firm marketing or part-time volunteer work for other organizations)
