About the company:

Aleo is a blockchain startup developing a private application platform designed to facilitate absolute privacy on blockchains. Its platform offers toolkits to allow users to write, deploy and share applications easily with a package manager, enabling them to compile and test codes without compromising privacy. Essentially, they are trying to build a "private" blockchain for use by multiple different end users.

About the Role:

As Corporate Counsel, you’ll play an integral role in the continued development of the legal function. Beyond negotiating contracts and handling the day-to-day legal needs of a growing startup, you'll also get great cross-functional exposure, working with various internal teams, as well as senior leadership. This is a junior to mid-level role that can serve as your entrée into the world of blockchain, with plenty of opportunity for mentorship from the GC.

Responsibilities:

Act as a trusted advisor on all legislative and regulatory developments affecting the business Advise on M&A transactions and other strategic initiatives Review, draft, negotiate, and advise on a wide variety of commercial agreements to meet business and legal requirements Support the development, management, implementation, and continuous improvement of legal and risk-management processes and procedures Manage day-to-day interactions with business partners, outside counsel, and other stakeholders Provide corporate governance support, including preparing corporate resolutions and meeting materials Address legal risk in business-centric ways, developing processes to solve problems, strengthening partnerships, and advancing opportunities
