About the company:

Acme Marinas LLC (“Acme” or “the company”) is a private investment firm that invests in and operates marinas. Acme’s mandate is primarily focused on marinas that are currently operational but will pursue development projects when attractive. Founded in 2021, Acme has secured funding and is now building the team. This opportunity is a unique role to join an early-stage firm and help build out the strategy from the ground up. Acme is based in Charleston, SC and has affiliated offices in Jacksonville.

About the Role:

The General Counsel will be responsible for all legal matters for the business, including overseeing the legal process for acquisitions, the management of all external counsel, general corporate matters (including legal matters related to HR and tax) and all litigation matters. The General Counsel will be expected to have a significant role in the development and growth of the business and to advise on legal matters related to such development and growth.

Responsibilities:

Overseeing and managing all legal matters related to the acquisition of new marinas and management of existing marinas. Overseeing the legal matters of the business Instituting and managing policies and procedures for the company Crafting and reviewing legal strategy in response to any litigation Keeping a record of all legal documents and proceedings for the company Facilitating filings of licensing forms and other statutory requirements Communicating and managing external outside counsel Performs other duties as required.
