Job Overview

Arkham is seeking an Associate General Counsel for Global Regulatory Licensing & Product. In this role, you’ll oversee regulatory licensing applications and advise on regulatory compliance and product development matters, particularly the launch and development of Arkham Exchange. This is an opportunity to engage directly with regulators and have an enormous impact within Arkham. The position can be based either in New York or in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, for candidates open to working in the Caribbean.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage regulatory engagements, including licensing applications and interactions with regulators.
  • Lead new regulatory licensing efforts, including:
  • Responding to and meeting with regulators to address pending applications.
  • Sourcing and managing external counsel and advisors.
  • Advising on policies, procedures, and standards required for licensing.
  • Collaborate with compliance teams to build and maintain a strong compliance program.
  • Provide legal guidance to business units on regulatory compliance and licensing matters.
  • Review new products and business lines for regulatory compliance and provide actionable advice to product teams.

About You

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in New York, Connecticut, or New Jersey, or eligible for admission.
  • 7+ years of experience in regulatory licensing, with a background in fintech, digital assets, or financial services.
  • Proven experience engaging with regulators and leading licensing applications.
  • Strong knowledge of digital asset and financial services regulations.
  • Legal writing and research expertise, with experience drafting regulatory responses and filings.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing teams of attorneys.
  • Passion for crypto and a solid understanding of the industry’s risks and opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse business units.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $200,000–$250,000 USD
  • Potential for long-term incentives and additional benefits.
