This family of crypto and blockchain startups does everything from decentralized social media, to telehealth services, to philanthropy. While most of the startups are early-stage, all of them are internally-capitalized and some already have significant revenue, either through physical securities services or node sales. Coming off a string of successes, their CLO has given us the green light to help him build out their legal team, with six new legal hires!

 

About This Role:

As the first Litigation Counsel to join this team, you’ll have a chance to help define and build out this function under the guidance of legal veterans of the blockchain space. You’ll work closely with the leaders of a growing number of portfolio companies, advising them on business disputes and internal inquiries.You’ll also have a key role in overseeing outside counsel handling litigation. This is an incredibly rare opportunity for a litigator to go in-house in the blockchain space.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Manage legal efforts in response to contentious inquiries, including managing pre-litigious and regulatory matters encountered by the client
  • Oversee outside counsel in managing assigned litigation matters, including day-to-day running of matters, overall strategy, written work, and oral advocacy
  • Identify potential litigation and regulatory risk and counsel the business to minimize exposure; advise and implement solutions to address issues identified
  • Advise the CLO, Deputy CLO, and business leaders from portfolio companies on various matters concerning litigation.
  • Provide additional counsel on ad-hoc issues as needed and assigned

 

About You:
  • JD with bar admission in good standing in at least one jurisdiction
  • 5+ years of litigation experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house
  • Former blockchain or crypto experience is a huge plus but not required
  • Interest in blockchain and crypto is a must!
