### Venture Debt Associate [Mid-level / Senior] @ Leading ECVC Platform

##### New York, Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles [Hybrid] $250,000 - $350,000

 

A leading ECVC firm is seeking a senior attorney to join its nationally recognized venture debt practice. Your mission: advise pre-profitability tech and life sciences companies on strategic financings—while helping build a modern, AI-enhanced platform at the center of the startup ecosystem.

**Why this role?  
**This is a rare chance to join a venture lending practice focused entirely on emerging growth companies and their investors. You’ll guide founders, CFOs, and institutional VCs through growth capital and venture debt transactions—handling term sheet markups, credit agreements, collateral packages, and commercial negotiations from day one.

This team isn’t just deal-savvy—it’s future-forward. You’ll contribute to internal form development and leverage cutting-edge AI tools that streamline rote processes, enabling deeper strategic engagement with clients.

It’s a great landing spot for attorneys exploring an eventual in-house move or those who want a path to Counsel without the hours and politics of traditional big law. Plus, the practice is deeply integrated with M&A, ECVC, and life sciences teams—offering high-level exposure across the full startup lifecycle.

**Top Requirements  
**You have at least 4 years of experience at a top law firm advising on venture debt, growth capital, or similar financing transactions. You’re a strong drafter with a commercial mindset, comfortable negotiating term sheets and credit documents, and eager to take ownership of client relationships. This role is ideal for attorneys who thrive with responsibility, enjoy working closely with founders and investors, and are excited by the intersection of legal work and technology. Candidates with backgrounds in project finance, energy finance, restructuring, or structured finance are not a fit. Admission to a relevant U.S. jurisdiction—such as NY, CA, or MA—is required.
