Whistler Partners is partnering with a fast-growing, crypto-focused tech law boutique founded by a former BigLaw attorney with deep experience advising digital asset and emerging technology clients. The practice has scaled rapidly over the past two years and has built a strong reputation for providing sophisticated, high-touch counsel to crypto-native companies and broader tech businesses.

Why this role?

The firm is seeking a 2nd–5th year corporate/transactional associate to join as one of its earliest growth hires. This is a rare opportunity to work directly with the founder in a lean, entrepreneurial environment where associates are deeply embedded in client matters from day one.

You’ll advise on a mix of transactional and outside GC work, product and regulatory counseling, and policy-facing initiatives (including formal comment letters on legislation and emerging regulatory frameworks). Crypto-native experience is not required—but genuine interest in the space and strong transactional instincts are essential.

This role is ideal for a lawyer who wants early responsibility, autonomy, and exposure to some of the most dynamic legal issues in tech today.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support crypto and tech clients on transactional and outside GC matters, including company formation, commercial agreements, and strategic growth work.

2. Advise on product counseling and regulatory considerations impacting digital asset and technology businesses.

3. Assist with drafting and submitting formal comment letters on proposed regulations and legislation.

4. Work directly with the founder on client strategy, deal execution, and business development.

5. Contribute across a broad range of crypto and non-crypto tech matters, based on interest and aptitude.

Top Requirements

1. 2nd–5th year associate with a strong transactional foundation.

2. Experience in ECVC, M&A, or general corporate transactions strongly preferred.

3. Crypto experience helpful but not required—genuine interest in the space is essential.

4. Comfortable working in a lean, entrepreneurial environment with high ownership.

5. Strong drafting skills, sound judgment, and a client-service mindset.

6. Not a fit for pure litigators or purely regulatory-only profiles.

Compensation

1. $200,000 base salary
2. Bonus tied to billable hours (e.g., ~$100,000 bonus at 1,500 hours, increasing from there)
